Turkish real estate company Antalya Homes now accepts payments in Bitcoin for real estate

Antalya Homes, the Turkish real estate company, announced that its clients can now pay for properties listed on its platform with Bitcoin (BTC).

According to a June 15 publication, Antalya Homes claims to have registered for the first time the sale of higher value real estate in Turkey using BTC as a form of payment.

According to the company, the coronavirus pandemic forced the real estate industry to innovate. More precisely, Antalya Homes implemented virtual tours of its properties and added support for Bitcoin on its website. The president of the firm, Bayram Tekce, explained:

First Turkish-German trade finance transaction using distributed record book technology

„At a property sale in Antalya, we recorded images of the house with a drone and took an online tour with the client. We then bring the buyer and seller together in a virtual meeting and finalize the negotiations. Antalya Homes negotiated the payments with Bitcoin. This sale, worth $1.25 million, was the highest value sale ever made by Bitcoin in Turkey.

Antalya Homes‘ website features a section dedicated to „Paying with Bitcoin“, which points out that the company also facilitates payments with XRP, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Tether (USDT), Stellar (XLM) and Ether (ETH).

Use of crypto currencies in the real estate market
The fees imposed on large transactions by traditional financial services make such payments a good case for the use of crypto currencies. For example, real estate investor Ben Shoaul sold a condo on the Upper East Side of Manhattan for $15.3 million, but in Bitcoin.

In October 2019, a 150-year-old church in England was also offered for sale for $1.5 million in Bitcoin.
